Psychotherapy for Gifted and Exceptionally Able Adults
Therapy for adults who were the gifted child, the early high achiever, the one everyone expected great things of. And what that costs.
Being the gifted child is not only a gift. It has a particular psychological shape, and that shape follows the adult.
The early advantage often comes with patterns that turn into burdens later: perfectionism, fragile motivation, hidden burnout, difficulty asking for help, the feeling that achievement is the only acceptable currency. The pond got bigger, and the early-life position in it became harder to hold.
I work with adults who recognise themselves in this description. Many are in technology, science, academia, or creative fields. Many came into therapy through anxiety, depression, or burnout, and discovered that the giftedness piece was the part no one had ever named.
The work is not about confirming or denying the label. It is about meeting the person under it.
All sessions are online. The first step is an initial consultation.
